The Fortaleza 2040 Plan is a new way of planning the City with citizenship. The City Hall and society reach a consensus on a common future for the City and, together, point out the solutions that will make Fortaleza a good place to live for everyone. What is planned will be considered by the mayor and his successors, when deciding what to do with public money, for this and future generations. The urban, social, environmental, economic and mobility axes were planned in a fully integrated manner, always counting on the broad participation of society, based on the complex vision of the City and the expanded Metropolitan Region. The Plan's main objective is to transform Fortaleza into a more accessible, fair and welcoming city, that is, the foundations of a smart city.
